Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech has admitted he “would love to” return to Ajax at some point.
Ziyech completed a £36 million ($48m) move to Chelsea from Ajax in July 2020 in a deal that many heralded as the best of that transfer window after he became one of the best attacking wingers in the game
However, since his move to Stamford Bridge, he has struggled to earn a regular spot in the starting XI due to a number of injury issues and a number of poor performances on that pitch
But that does not hide the fact he is still a big part of the Chelsea plans and a player that the fans love to watch when he is on top of his game, as shown in glimpses during the time he has been at Stamford Bridge
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge ahead of the January transfer window and has now revealed he would welcome the chance to head back to Amsterdam.
The Moroccan told Ziggo Sport: “I would love to. I had a fantastic time there.
“It’s a place where I have felt at home, and whether it will ever happen, the future will tell. If it is up to me, it will definitely happen.
“That’s not up to me; I leave that to them. I just try to enjoy every day now and do my thing.
“What the future brings, we’ll see then. Like I said, I hope it happens one day. Whether it will happen is not up to me.”
Ziyech was one of the most attacking and skillful winger sin Europe before he joined Chelsea, so it is a shame to see that he has not fulfilled his true potential with the Blues
But even though he is still a big part of the Chelsea plans, if the right offer arrives, he may well get that transfer he is looking for Iomie
